Domestic violence and/or harassment can be extremely upsetting and damaging.  Domestic abuse can include physical, sexual and psychological abuse.  Psychological abuse can take many forms including harassment, intimidation and threat of physical or sexual abuse. Domestic abuse and violence can also significantly affect children in their general well-being and education. It is important that they are protected from such a situation.

If the situation is serious, and you or the children are in immediate danger, you should contact your local police station immediately and explain the situation and seek their assistance.

The police are under an obligation to treat domestic violence and abuse seriously and cannot simply dismiss the matter as a “domestic incident”.
