Who are you and what do you do?

I began as a trainee solicitor in 2003 and I am now the youngest Equity Partner within the company, and currently head up the Wanstead branch. I have a mixed practice of private crime and private client work. I act for individuals and companies facing prosecution for matters from road traffic offences to health and safety at work cases. I also specialise in matters regarding wealth management, including drafting wills, powers of attorney, probate and tax planning.

What’s the secret of your success?

A major factor in my success is the importance I place on every client, to understanding his or her individual legal needs and my commitment to delivering effective solutions. Each client deserves the very best that I can give. Another factor is hard work …and lots of it! I work efficiently and prioritise my work. This enables me to give every case the appropriate attention.

How do you achieve a work/life balance?

I work hard during the week so that I can have my weekends with my family. However I work in areas which frequently involve emergency work, so I often work late at night, ensuring that the client gets the advice they need immediately. I always like to have a holiday on the horizon though – something to focus on and get me through those long days.

Who inspires you the most, either in work or at home?

Without a doubt all of the working mummies out there! Life with little people is very fast. Having two girls myself I understand the worries and strain for working mums. You have to literally have all of your plates spinning and hope they keep spinning! Whether you feel guilty for going to work or guilty for not…there is no right answer. I am lucky and have huge support from my husband, he makes it all possible.
