Edwards Duthie Shamash secure substantial costs award against the Crown Prosecution Service

Edwards Duthie Shamash were successful in obtaining a costs award against the Crown Prosecution Service for just over £13,000 following our clients’ acquittal in Crown Court proceedings.  Both had been accused of stealing monies from an elderly relative.  Not only were they acquitted of these serious allegations, but we were also successful in persuading the Court that the Crown Prosecution Service should be responsible for costs that had been incurred in their defence.  The Court agreed with submissions made on behalf of both of our clients that the Crown Prosecution Service should pay their costs in a sum that was just over £13,000.

The persons at Edwards Duthie Shamash who were involved in this case were Shaun Murphy and Shabaz Ahmed, who acted as Advocates.
