Karley Styles LL.B (Hons)

Karley joined the firm in March 2005 as a paralegal and qualified as a solicitor in February 2008, and subsequently as a Duty Solicitor.

Experience & Areas of Expertise:


Karley has a wide range of experience working in all areas of criminal law, including murder, fraud, drug offences and sexual offences, defending at all levels from the police station to the Crown Court. Karley also has experience in Confiscation Proceedings and applications for Judicial Review.

R v Bamford and others (2008)
Karley is currently acting for two of five defendants accused of a multi-handed attack resulting in serious stab wounds.

R v Peters (2008)
Karley defended a pensioner who was accused of harassing a barmaid in breach of his ASBO.

R v Caunter (2008)
Karley had involvement in this case in 2008.  The defendant was charged with the murder of his fiance and faced trial at Ipswich Crown Court.

R v Rashid and Another (2009)
Karley acted for two defendants who were acquitted of witness intimidation.

R v Ali and another (2009)
Karley represented one of two defendants who was accused of impersonating a police officer in order to obtain money from the complainants.

R v Francis and Another (2009)
Karley represented two defendants who were charged with possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply and money laundering.  Both defendants were acquitted after the the court found that there was no case to answer.
