James Harrison LL.M

James joined Edwards Duthie in January 2002 as a solicitor.  He became a Partner in April 2006.

Experience & Areas of Expertise:


James heads our community law team and specialises in housing and community care. He also represents clients at Mental Health Review Tribunals and has been a member of the Law Society's MHRT accreditation scheme since 2001.  James is a member  of the Housing Law Practitioners Association and has sat on its Executive Committee since 2005.  In that role he represents the association nationally on legal aid issues.

Clients/Cases of Interest:


James' notable cases include Naser Osmani v LB Camden in the Court of Appeal which concerned the vulnerability of a homeless applicant and R(Omar Ahmad) v LB Newham in the House of Lords which challenged the legality of the council's allocations scheme.
