Amy Meech LL.B, M.A.

Amy joined the firm as a paralegal in the Crime Department in June 2006 after having obtained her law degree from Queen Mary University and a Masters at Durham University.  She began her training contract in May 2007 and qualified as a solicitor in May 2009.

Experience:


Amy obtained her police station accreditation and advised clients at the police station and in benefit interviews.  During her training, she completed seats in Crime, Care and Mental Health Law.  Amy has represented clients at Mental Health Hospital Managers Hearings and Mental Health Review Tribunals.  She regularly represents clients at the Magistrates Court.  Amy is in the process of obtaining her duty solicitor status and hopes to undertake her higher rights qualification shortly.

Crime, Care, Mental Health. Criminal Cases, particularly representation and advice at police stations and Magistrates Courts.

Clients/Cases of Interest:


Recently represented the interests of a care client in the newly opened Supreme Court.  Amy is particularly passionate about maintaining access to justice given the constraints of the brave new legal world legal aid finds itself in.  She is keen to ensure that clients receive good quality legal advice and assistance no matter what their personal or financial circumstances are.
